Metric split lock washers DIN 127 are specifically designed to reduce the loosening of fasteners from their matching assembly. The spring tension of these washers prevents loosening by creating pressure against a fastener's threads and its mating part. They are available in steel and stainless. Other sizes and materials are available upon request.

The standard is called "medium" but there are also thicker ones ("heavy") and thinner ones ("light"). There is also a taller version of the medium called a "high collar lock washer" (or hi-collar to some).
