Calk-In style anchors, more commonly known as machine screw anchors, are versatile anchors that are used as part of many anchoring systems. They work well in many types of concrete applications, though recommended primarily for poured concrete, because of their extreme ductility. After installation, the fixture is removable because the anchor can be left in the concrete, but the machine screw or bolt used can be unscrewed and removed

This type of anchor is extremely unsafe in overhead applications especially involving block, as the anchor body (round part) can slip free from the cone causing the item to fall. It was not designed for overhead use. Under no circumstances whatsoever is this anchor to be used in any overhead application. These are modeled after the legendary Tampin® brand anchors.

Some sizes may be available in closed end. The 1/4-20 is also available with a brass insert instead of a Zamak® insert by calling your Hardware Everywhere representative.
