Timber Bolts
A timber bolt is a carriage bolt where the square neck has been replaced by fins. Timber bolts are frequently used in wood and marine applications. They are referred to as dome head, fender head, safety head, and mushroom head bolts. The underside of the head has nibs or fins (4 typically) which prevent the bolt from turning in the timber. Available only in steel from stock, they are normally Hot Dipped Galvanized for extra corrosion protection.
