Tee nuts (t-nuts) are primarily, but exclusively, used in the furniture industry. They come in both steel and stainless. The fangs (teeth) can be in any number but 3 and 4 are the most common.

The tee nut becomes flush with the surface and the fangs dig in to hold it in place. This makes it ideal for assembly. The tee nut has a barrel (which can vary depending on the user's needs). On one end there is a flange which is cut and  bent down into fangs.
