Rivet Nuts
Rivet nuts (often called by the trademarked RivNut(R) instead of the generic name) are a unique type of blind threaded fastener that come smooth or knurled shank. They also have various sized lips and come in a wide variety of “heads” in both flat and countersunk. Materials available are steel (zinc and zinc yellow), aluminum, and stainless.
There are also hex and round shanks available as well as having an open end. They maybe be knurled, lipped, flanged, or even hex flanged. Some types are similar to standoffs. Rivet nuts are a blind nut that is able to attach onto a metal sheet surface for bolting purposes, where a simple hole opening is not possible because the material is too thin to hold a bolt or a screw. Ideal for punched or drilled holes. They may be knurled or smooth.
