Insert bits are used to install or remove screws. They go into a drill (hand, air, battery, or electric) which drives them. Sometimes an extender or "chuck" is used to extend the length. These bits come in Phillips, slotted, 6-lobe, star, Torx(R), square, spanner, tri-wing, tri-groove, pin-in, and hex just to name a few. The power bits comes many lengths, all the way to six inches.
